Design + Build
In this 3 minute video we select a theme and demonstrate how we make it yours by adding your logo, imagery, colours, fonts etc in a 1-on-1 Squarespace session.
Once you have your plan, platform, logo, colours and key imagery we can start the design and build of your website. Choose the session type that best suits you.
Select 1 of these
Join us for a 1-on-1 website building session using Squarespace, where we create your website with you – in front of your eyes – in a matter of hours. You will be able to add as many pages as you like, later! This option suits sole proprietors.
We take your plan and content and turn it into a uniquely crafted website in our studio – then present it back to you for 'tweaks and changes'. This option suits most small businesses and allows us to spend extra time adding features and functions.
Note - NFP, corporate and enterprise level wordpress websites will not follow this design method.
Optimise website headings and links
Our websites are properly built for search engines. To help your website to be located it pays to understand which words your target audience will type in to find your kind of business or organisation. These are known as keywords. The keywords should be used in your headings and assigned a style sheet that enables the robots to find your webpage. It takes time to do this properly.
As a basic service we conduct basic keyword research for one of your service categories and give you and/or the copywriter the research so that the basic requirements are met.
Extra keyword research and improvement services are available. Choose the service level that is right for you.
Upload your website
So far, your website has been a 'work in progress' but as we are now at the finish line, it is time to release it to your loving audience. This is where we ask you for your domain name (URL) for your website, so that we can hook up the 'hidden' working website with your business' domain name.
Don't have a domain name? We can help you – as it is one of the most important elements of your online presence – our experience will be beneficial.
Test + tweak
Test, check + tweak
Once the site is finished it is time to run the vital checks across the content, website browsers, tablets and mobile phones to make sure it is working 'responsively'. At this point. it is usual for the designer, developer and the client to run through a checklist so that any fixes can be identified and then made in an orderly and efficient manner.
Go live + manage + update
Go live + manage + update
Now your website is LIVE!
But that is not where the story ends. To keep your car running smoothly and efficiently, you have to maintain it. The same is true for your website. You have to keep it maintained to make sure that it is representing your business at its peak operating performance. A 'broken' website does not say good things about your business. To make sure that this doesn't happen, here are some recommendations for you:
There are two types of website management areas:
Content management is a huge topic in itself but briefly:
Once your website is live and becoming a living extension of your sales team, or a hub point for your community, it is time to keep building on your strong beginnings. And, it should be integrated with your social media and email activities to maximise its potential.
Also, updating and adding great, relevant website content will be rewarded by browsers like Google, so it is well worth your energy and investment. Not to mention that your client's will also benefit from up to date website information.
We recommend that you:
analyse content responses, plan and create the content updates and additions yourself, or
invest in a monthly recommendation report and suggestions based on the analysis and carry out the updates yourself, or
take the stress away and have it done for you for an agreed monthly fee.
Technically your website will have few problems, however, depending upon the CMS chosen it will require updates at times for plug-ins and in response to new browsers being released. It is always advisable to keep some budget available for updates and maintenance.
